Khalil Gibran (full name Gibran Khalil Gibran Ben Mikha'il Ben Saâd, Arabic: جبران خليل جبران بن ميخائيل بن سعد6 ( January 6, 1883 – April 10, 1931) was a Lebanese American poet, visual artist, painter, sculptor and writer. He was born in Bsharri, Lebanon on this day January 6, 1883. His family consist of his father,Khalil ben Gibran and his mother, Kamila, and two sisters, Mariana and Sultana, and a half brother, Peter. He spent much of his productive life in the United States. He died at an age of 48, on 10 April 1931 when his liver disease got worse. Khalil

Gibran produced much work during his life time. His works includes many books and arts. Khalil Gibran was a great man. Water Babies Creativity

This Christmas, my mother, brother and I made water babies for Christmas Gifts. First we put the water babies crystals into the water. After about two hours, the water babies would have grown full-sized as shown in the pictures above.

Next, we took out all the empty bottles which we would like to put the water babies. We drained out all the water and placed the water babies into the empty bottles. We put them into layers of different colours as shown in the pictures below.

After all the water babies were put into the containers, we wiped dry the bottles. After that, we painted the covers of the containers. Then we decorate the covers with glitters.

It was so much fun making the water babies. We had so much fun but it was a lot of things to clear and tidying up. It was no fun clearing all the mess after that.

Ninja Turtles

This is Leonardo or Leo. He is the unofficial leader of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle brothers -- Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello. He is often referred to as :Splinter Junior" by his brothers. Leo is a team player and likes to take the lead and come up with battle strategies.

This is Raphael. Raphael is brash, restless, opinionated, stubborn and temperamental. He loves to fight and the physical aspects of ninjitsu. He is hot-headed and often likes to fight first and ask questions later. His flashing twin steel sais and his hair-trigger temper make Raphael a fearsome and fearless warrior.

This is Donatello, the brains of the Ninja Turtles group. Donatello has a natural ability to understand how things work. He is a great inventor as well. He can build high-speed vehicles and turtlized accessories out of scraps and trash.

This is Michelangelo. He is a natural born athlete. Mikey loves to be the centre of attention. He has a sense of humour and has an easy-going nature. He is always the group's peacemaker.

1840 - Born on November 14th in Paris, France. French painter who was the initiator, leader, and unswerving advocate of the Impressionist style.

1832 - Monet's choice of Algeria for service was perhaps a result of his admiration for the Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix, whose colouristic work had been influenced by a visit to Morocco.

1845 - When Claude, the eldest son of Adolphe Monet, a grocer, was five years old, the family moved to the Normandy coast, near Le Havre, where his father took over the management of his family's thriving ship-chandlering and grocery business.

1855 - Monet's first success as an artist came when he was 15, with the sale of caricatures that were carefully observed and well drawn. In these early years he also executed pencil sketches of sailing ships, which were almost technical in their clear descriptiveness.

1859-1860 - He first visited Paris, where he was impressed by the work of the Barbizon-school painters Charles Daubigny and Constant Troyon.

1861-1862 - This informal training was interrupted by a call to military service; he served in Algeria, where he was excited by the African light and colour.

- Monet returned to Le Havre, perhaps because of illness, and again painted the sea with Boudin, while also meeting the Dutch marine painter Johan Barthold Jongkind.

1863-1866 - One of the most ambitious of these early works (which was never finished, supposedly because of negative comments by Gustave Courbet) was Déjeuner sur l'herbe (“Luncheon on the Grass”), named after Édouard Manet's notorious painting shown in the "Salon des Refusés".

1870 - At Trouville, in broad, assured gestures, Monet painted a study of Camille on the beach. It is as animated an example of visual realism as had ever been painted: grains of sand remain embedded in the pigment.

- In order to avoid the Franco-German War, he left his son and Camille, whom he had just married, and traveled to London.

1872 - Monet discovered Japanese prints, the decorativeness and flatness of which were to have a strong influence on the development of modern painting in France.

1876 - A liaison began between Monet and Alice Hoschedé, the wife of a department-store owner and collector. Monet had incurred a burden of debts in Argenteuil, and Camille was pregnant and ill.

1879 - At Vétheuil the Monets were joined by Hoschedé, who had left her husband, and six of her children. Using funds from her dowry she assumed Monet's debts and cared for Camille, who died in September.

1883 - Monet, Hoschedé, her children, and Monet's sons, Jean and Michel, settled at Giverny, a hamlet near Vernon, 52 miles (84 km) from Paris, on the tiny Epte River. There Monet purchased a farmhouse surrounded by an orchard, which was to be his home until his death and is now a French national monument.

1899-1904 - The first (for which he made at least three trips to London) was the extensive multiple series representing the River Thames, the Waterloo and Charing Cross bridges, and the Houses of Parliament.

1908-1912 - The second and last of the architectural motifs Monet pursued was the canals and palaces of Venice. Monet began this series and continued, although he worked on these subjects at Giverny.

1915 - The concept of embracing spatiality, new to the history of painting and only implicit in the first water-lily paintings, unfolded during the years until the artist's death into a cycle of huge murals to be installed in Paris in two 80-foot oval rooms in the Orangerie of the Tuileries.

1926 - Died on December 5th in Giverny.

Bingo

Bingo is a game of chance in which randomly selected numbers are drawn and players match these numbers to those appearing on their 5 x 5 grid Bingo cards. A player who is able to form a specific pattern of drawn numbers on their cards called out "Bingo". The player win the game if the numbers matches the numbers in the correct pattern.

Each bingo card contains a unique combination of numbers. There are up to 75 random numbers. Each player can select to play up to eight Bingo cards. Once a numbered ball is selected from the Numbered Ball Container, it is announced to the players. The ball is set aside while each player search their cards for the called number. If the player sees the matching number, which is the number being called, he will mark it.

To win Bingo, player must match the pattern by marking off the numbers as they are called before another player does. If more than one player claims Bingo the player who claims Bingo first will win the current game and a new game will start.

The simple layout of the garden consists of four avenues of trees, long gravel paths and colourful flower beds among stonework and evergreen hedging. The huge Lion Tazza urn overflows with flowers in the centre of the garden. This is the original Nesfield bowl, supported by four winged lions.

Queen Mary's Garden (Inner Circle)
In the silver Jubilee year of 1935 the Inner Circle Gardens were renamed Queen Mary's Garden by George V, as she often visited them. Her gardens include the spectacular Rose Garden, formed in 1930 following a donation of bushes from the British Rose Growers Association. This garden includes more than 400 types of rose, the scent of which reachese the furthest boundaries of the park. The gardens' recently restored black and gold Jubilee Gates show the date 6 May 1935, under the King's initials. These gates, along with the Chester Road gates, were a gift from the painter Sigismund Goetze to commemorate the Jubilee.

The Secret Garden
This small, secluded garden is one of the park's hidden highlights. It was designed in 1891 for the third Marquis of Bute, who wanted a garden 'fit for meditation'. The entrance is through unmarked green iron gates, off the Inner Circle, near Chester Road. The garden has statues of Hylas and the Nymph set in a stone pool, the topless Goatherd's daughter and the Awakening, two faces within a split seed. There are elegant high-backed wooden benches, numerous nooks of clipped yew and lavender and a sunken lawn rolled out like an exotic rug from the gently curved stone steps facing St John's Lodge, the first villa to be built in the park.
